I don't have an autistic child but my sister is, well, not sure what they'd diagnose it as today but back then she was called mentally retarded. In the 1960s, one took great pains to hide the fact that one had a child like that. My parents, like you, chose a different path and continuously sought to give her as much education and exposure as possible. You are so kind to share your journey with others.
