Quick updates before I move on to something very important

I just found something i really wat to discuss here, but before I go into that (most likely extremely long) post, I wanted to give a quick update.

Contrary to popular rumor, I have not left on a pilgrimage to attain a greater knowledge of the universe or its inner workings, nor have I simply decided to end this discussion. The Twinkie truck has not managed to take me out, nor do I believe that hostess has a reason to have targeted me for termination; even though I have not consumed a single one of their products in over eight years.

The simple truth is that I have been avoiding the computer while my family and I prepare for our move to California and my wife’s eventual move to Turkey.  It has been more important for me to spend time with my family than it has for me to sit here and document the remainder of our time in Texas.

Selfish?  Perhaps, but if so I’ll own it.  I don’t want to miss a moment with my family as an entire unit.  Soon enough we won’t have the option to spend that kind of time together.  For fifteen months minimum, the needs of my country come before the needs of my family.  I can accept that necessity but I will not spare a moment of the time we have together now.

As for Lil’B, his progress has been absolutely amazing. I have no idea what happened, but something in him switched on.  He’s becoming more and more verbal.  He’s signing when he should be and talking when he can.  he has mastered counting to ten, though some of the number pronunciations still need much work.  he knows up and down (and will happily shout them to the workd as long as someone will listen).  He sings, he dances and he makes eye contact!

I am a very proud father.  My little man is overcoming probles that I’m not even sure he is aware that he has, and he’s doing it rapidly and determinedly. I couldn’t be happier for him. He’s earning this on his own, his mother and I simply try to help him along.

I’ll post specifics on his progress beginning Monday (at which point this blog takes on a far more frequent posting schedule) for now, I’ve come across something that needs to be shared and I feel it deserves its own post, so I intend to give it one.
